The group consists of a major part of the Swedish county councils and SEMCo. The objective of the group is to find environmental innovations for substitution problems within the health care sector. For this, pro-active suppliers are needed that are willing to invest in best available technology.

Important product groups within the health care sector have been prioritised for the work according to:

• Big volumes
• Content of hazardous chemicals
• Risk
• The potential to substitution
• The development of hazardous waste

A substitution list has been developed, with guidance to which products substitutes already exists. Another list is a list of products for which substitutes are needed. The group is currently working with engaging suppliers in the work to find possible innovations as solutions.
