SEMCo strives to increase the knowledge and use of sustainability criteria in public procurement. A priority area for SEMCo is to spread awareness on how to use these criteria in public procurement. This is mainly done through seminars and workshops by our experts on different aspects of sustainable procurement, such as LCC, EPD, food and chemicals. SEMCo offers two web based courses on green public procurement. The courses are in Swedish:

Introduction to green public procurement

The introduction course gives basic knowledge of several subjects, from how to use green criteria to brief information on LCC (life cycle cost). The course takes about an hour to complete. At the end of the course, there is an opportunity to take a test. With a certain number of correct answers, a diploma can be printed.
This course is only available in Swedish.

introduction to Climate-efficient procurement

A first step towards climate-efficient procurement is taken. SEMCo offers an online course on how to increase energy and climate-efficiency in procurement. Apart from a couple of short examples on climate-efficiency in procurement, it also gives a few examples on how to use LCC (life cycle costs). It gives advice on how to calculate the actual cost of products and aims to increase investments in the green sector.
