The Swedish Environmental Management Council, SEMCo, organises an annual conference on green procurement in collaboration with the Swedish magazine Miljoaktuellt.

The annual conference is addressed to public, private and third sector purchasers, suppliers and policy makers. The aim is to create a forum for the exchange of experiences and dialogue between these groups. 

SEMCo Awards

SEMCo annually rewards one purchaser and one supplier organisation with an effective method of solving challenges – “Excellent Green Purchaser” and “Excellent Green Supplier”. The award ceremony is held during the annual conference Gron Upphandling (Green Procurement) in Stockholm.

The purpose of the awards is to highlight purchasers and suppliers who work seriously and innovatively with green procurement. The winners receive, in addition to a prize sculpture, the right to use a prize symbol in their marketing.

The SEMCo Awards were established in 2008 and the first year winners were handed the prize by H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria.
